Rhys' 2nd Birthday

We celebrated Rhys' birthday while we were in Utah. He is way into Curious George so he received a lot of presents "George" related. Ross and I got him a George that would tumble and do summer saults which my brother J.D. was opening when Rhys disappeared and when he came back he had his own play tools so that he could help open it, I guess J.D. wasn't going fast enough. It was cute that he wanted to help. We got him a cookie monster cake which was just adorable. Which at the age of two we stripped his shirt off of him to eat the cake other wise we would have had blue frosting all over his shirt. When we would ask him who's birthday it was he would say " Rhys happy day". I love this stage when they are starting to talk and you can actually understand what they are saying. But now we have entered into the terrible two's lets hope there isn't to much fit throwing.

Fishing With Grampy

On one of my dads days off we went fishing up to Deer Creek. Christian caught 2 fish with the help of mom on riling them in. He was way excited, but he was a little disappointed that they were both the same type of fish. I really enjoyed it cause I didn't have to chase Rhys around cause on a boat there was no where for him to go. Every once in awhile Rhys would get all flustered and want his life jacket off but once he noticed I was not going to take it off he stopped fussing. Gavin got several fish to bite but since he was trying to rill them in by his self he never actually caught one. But he would be the type that could fish all day long he has the patients for sitting around to get a bite, he really enjoyed it. Christian on the other hand, after he caught his fish and the excitement was gone and we were just sitting around waiting for the fish is when we heard a lot of complaining that he was bored and wanted to go. Grampy was not really able to fish because he was untangling fish lines and baiting the lines. Poor Grampy. Other than the complaining, we had a great time with Grampy and my sister Jamie fishing!!

Gavin's Birthday

You can blow them out now.

The Second Pocket Knife

I don't believe Gavin turned 8 this year. We had a little party with a few of our friends. I made him a confetti cake cause he said anything but chocolate cake cause he doesn't like it( so weird how does someone not like chocolate cake?) Ross and I decided to get him a pocket knife since he was starting cub scouts. He loved it! He took it everywhere even where he didn't even need it and that his how he lost it while we were out one day, he thinks it fell out of his pocket at subway. It broke his heart!! So Ross and I got him another one and gave it to him at his family birthday party in Utah since then he hasn't let it out of his site. He had great Birthday.

4th of July weekend

When did Gavin get old enough to talk to girls?

Ross had a three day weekend so we started partying Friday. On Friday we went to the beach for a few hours. Rhys would start walking from the shallow towards deeper water until it started getting in his mouth but even then he still wanted to go deeper. The boys loved swimming at the beach! Later we walked to the Rib Fest and got some ribs and ice cream. That night Ross and the boys set the tent up in our backyard. Gavin and Christian really liked sleeping in the tent and thought it is was really cool that there was a firefly in the tent. The 4th of July didn't feel like the 4th because it rained on and off all day long, which I'm so used to it being sunny and hot. That evening we went to our friends' house and had some awesome ribs and delicious blackberry pie with homemade ice cream. The boys loved playing with their cats or more like teasing and torturing them. And when we watched the fireworks Rhys just ran around in circles where we were sitting and every once in a while he would stop and say WOW, it was cute. The boys did sparklers which I don't have pictures of because I forgot the camera at home. We had a great and fun weekend!

Nanas visit

I think it is funny that Ross is the only one looking in my direction.

The boys had so much fun having Nana here for a week. Ross and I were able to go out for a day (just the two of us) and had a great time. Thanks Nana! While she was here we went to the zoo, saw the movie UP, spent a day walking around Chicago and of course went and ate Chicago style pizza. We did a lot of playing and just hanging out. It was a great weak and we're glad that Nana came to visit us.

Christian's Eye Surgery

He loved this fish game

Look at all the stickers I got.

Getting his I.D bracelets which one was purple and he said "I wanted a orange one they must have used them all already".

Christian had to get eye surgery to fix his wandering eye. Last night he woke up a little scared of what was going to happen so he climbed in bed with me which Rhys was already in bed with me but not a sleep so the two of them were awake most of the night playing. He was so calm and easy during the whole surgery prep. He got a lot of stuff while he was there a bunch of stickers, a little fish game which he loved, a stuffed dog and a little sponge bob square pants that he picked out on our way out. When it was time for Ross and I to go back to the waiting room and Christian to go with the nurse to the operating room he looked at me and said bye, which at that point I told him he had to stop playing his fish game and give me a hug and a kiss at least. He never cried or acted scared he was so brave!! He also came out of being asleep real well he was just worried that he was going to feel sleepy all day. Which he was okay after we told him that as the day went on he would feel better. Now the hard part is keeping him down for 10 days so that his eyes wont be bummed. I had to go to the store today and he wore his sun glasses the whole time we were out of the house cause he thought that if kids saw his eyes they would make fun of him even though I told them they WOULD not. He is so cute and little in the pictures. I'm so proud of him for being so big during the whole thing!!
